Church Life

The Church is governed by the Church Council and this has a number of teams reporting to it.

Church Council meets four times a year.

Mission Team

The Mission Team hold Mission Meetings several times a year inviting speakers from organisations we support. In addition we are responsible for a budget of about £6000 deciding how to distribute 10% of the Church’s income to Christian organisations both in this country and abroad.  We also raise money each year by running events for Christian Aid.

We have, for many years, supported link Missionaries through the Church Mission Society. Our present link is with Phil and Sylvie Good who are based at the Life Center in Beirut, Lebanon.

House Groups

Adult Bible Study

The House Group Structure forms part of the lifeblood of Hart Plain Church and the friendship, fellowship, love and pastoral care provided by the Groups is greatly valued by the members. When this is added to the prayer, study and spiritual growth that takes place within the groups one can easily see how vital they are to our Church Life.

We currently have 4 groups with a total of 50 members.Three meet on Wednesday evening and one on Thursday evening. A typical meeting will include Praise, Prayer, Study and a time of fellowship with a cup of tea and a biscuit or even the occasional birthday cake. In addition to the meetings, the groups lead a service once a month, this is a most rewarding experience as the groups plan the whole service

CoGs

Children Of God

This is the name chosen by the children for our Sunday school.

We meet every second and fourth Sundays in the month between 10.00am and 11.30am and cater for children aged between 4 and 11 years.

Christianity is taught through Bible readings, prayer, and plays.
We also have crafts and cooking – games and singing.
We aim to have a few outside activities each year such as picnics in the park and bowling.

Pathfinders

Youth Ministry

Is God still relevant today?
If He is an all-loving God, why does He allow suffering?
Is it worth being a Christian?
How do we know He exists?

If you have ever thought about questions like these then why not come along to Pathfinders at Hart Plain Church. Pathfinders meet on the 2nd and 4th Sunday morning of every month at 10am. We welcome everyone between the ages of 11 to 18.

We have discussions, read the bible, pray and have bible study. We have the opportunity to talk about ourselves and what we have been doing during the week and can offer support to one another when going through exams, getting results, starting a new school or college, etc. There is also time to praise God and share in fellowship.
