We are just like you, our congregation covers all walks of life and all ages, we have the same daily worries about family, friends, money, jobs and a million other things.

Our great strength is that we believe in God the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit and we know that in Jesus we can find help, comfort and forgiveness when it is needed.

In a time when “Family” does not always mean as much as it could, the Hart Plain Church family provides not only a warm welcome to all, but a true caring fellowship where members can share their hopes, dreams, worries and fears and know that there is always a loving shoulder to lean on.

Why not drop in for a visit, who knows, it could be the start of something very special

The Ministers

Rev Kate MacFarlane is the Anglican minister for Hart Plain Church.

I am married to John and we have two daughters, Laura and Jessica.

I enjoy reading, watching films and days out with the family. I love music (particularly something you can dance to) and singing. I also enjoy crafts, especially sewing, reading and cryptic crosswords.

I am a member of a team of Street Pastors who go out once a month to help people who are out on the streets in Portsmouth city centre.

I feel privileged that God has called me to serve in Hart Plain and every day I thank Him for the joy of living in this community”.

Rev Stephen Wright is the Methodist Minister at Hart Plain Church.

I have been a Methodist minister for over 30 years. A widower since 2004, I have 2 boys, Greg and Michael.

I’ve always loved music; among my highlights are seeing the Eagles at the height of their fame and U2, when not many people had heard of them.

I now play guitar as well as listen. I also enjoy walking, reading and sport.

I first served as the Methodist minister at Hart Plain Church some years ago; before the age of the internet!!!! It is an unexpected joy and pleasure to return.
